It’s Mental Health Awareness Week – but at My Black Dog, every week is mental health week

12–18 May 2025 | Theme: Community

This week marks Mental Health Awareness Week, led by the Mental Health Foundation. The focus for 2025 is community—a theme that resonates deeply with us at My Black Dog.

Being part of a supportive, understanding community can make all the difference when it comes to mental health. Communities give us connection, purpose, a sense of belonging, and help when we need it most. At My Black Dog, we’re proud to say that supporting people and building those vital communities is something we do every single day of the year.

Community in action

We believe community isn’t just a concept—it’s something we actively nurture by showing up, speaking up, and standing alongside people where they are.

Last year, we connected with hundreds of people at CarFest, one of the UK’s most popular family festivals. It gave us the chance to have real conversations, break down stigmas around mental health, and let people know they are never alone.

Just a few weeks ago, we were proud to be at Silverstone, engaging with yet another vibrant community and spreading the word about our work. These events help us to reach people face-to-face, build new relationships, and create safe spaces for important conversations.

Our ongoing mission

Whether it’s through events, partnerships, online support, or simply by being a voice in the dark when someone reaches out, My Black Dog exists to provide that all-important sense of community.

We know that mental health struggles don’t stick to a calendar. That’s why we’re here 365 days a year to listen, support, and stand alongside people in their toughest moments.

You are not alone

If you or someone you know needs support, please know that My Black Dog is here. You are never alone, and there is always someone ready to listen without judgement.

Together, we can continue building stronger, safer, and more supportive communities for everyone. 💙
